Adding irony to something creates interesting experiences. If “Plumed” and “Plucked” were, respectively, the feathered and unfeathered sculptures, they would probably be quite boring. However, by adding irony and switching the names around, they are automatically given intense new amounts of meaning.
Meaning that is lost on people who don’t understand irony, and will simply stare at them and go, “I don’t get it.”
